After you've authorized a settlement, we send the first payment to the creditor and then process our fee for that debt only. Depending on how the fees and payments to the creditor are split up, it sometimes appears at first glance as if the settlement fee is more than the payment to the creditor, but we can assure you it's not. The settlement fee is a percentage of the enrolled balance (not the balance at settlement), and we factored it in when we created your program plan and recurring deposit amount.
